6Directory Browser
Last updated
The Directory Browser is where you look at, and work on, the contents of an Active Directory domain from your web browser. It shows the directory as a tree on the left and the selected object on the right, with every attribute stored on it, its change history and — for users and groups — its group memberships. With the right licence and permissions you can also create, rename, move, edit and delete users, groups, organizational units and computers without leaving the page.
This chapter covers reading the directory, searching it, and every management action the browser offers. It also explains what the browser deliberately does not offer, and where to go for those tasks instead.
