14.1Installing the node

Last updated

The package is published to npm as @syn-con/n8n-nodes-synergy-management-gateway.

To install the node from the n8n user interface:

  1. Sign in to n8n as an owner or administrator.
  2. Open Settings and select Community Nodes.
  3. Select Install.
  4. Enter @syn-con/n8n-nodes-synergy-management-gateway as the package name.
  5. Confirm that you understand the risks of installing community nodes, and select Install.
  6. Wait until the package appears in the list of installed community nodes.

After installation, the node appears in the n8n node panel as SYNERGY Management Gateway.

If you run n8n in Docker and prefer to bake community nodes into the image, you can build an image that bundles the package and deploy that image instead. Install the same package name in the image's n8n custom nodes folder.

Moving from the earlier package name

Earlier versions of the node were published as @syn-con/n8n-nodes-synergy-directory-access-platform. That package is deprecated but keeps working. To move to the current package:

  1. Uninstall the old package first. Never have both installed: they declare the same node and credential, and n8n refuses the second one.
  2. Install @syn-con/n8n-nodes-synergy-management-gateway.
  3. Your saved credentials carry over unchanged, because the credential type did not change.
  4. Saved workflows still refer to the node from the old package. Either replace those nodes in each workflow, or export the workflow, replace @syn-con/n8n-nodes-synergy-directory-access-platform.activeDirectory with @syn-con/n8n-nodes-synergy-management-gateway.activeDirectory in the exported file, and import it again.
Important: Uninstall the old package before installing the new one. Having both installed at the same time makes n8n refuse to load the node.
