6.13Troubleshooting

| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Directory Browser is missing from the navigation | You need ad:directory:read, the directory-browser licence entitlement, an active licence, and at least one directory connection that your role may use. |
| No Actions menu, no pencils, no New object here… | The installation lacks the directory-management entitlement, or you hold no create, update or delete permission for that class. |
| "Failed to read the directory partitions" | The connection cannot reach its domain controller. Check the connection's health (see Chapter 5, Directory connections). |
| An object you expect is not in the tree | Expand its container (use Load more… for large ones) or use Search in this container…; the tree filter only searches what is loaded. Use Reload children if it was created elsewhere recently. |
| Unlock account is greyed out | The account is not locked out; the sign-in problem has another cause. |
| A move fails with "That does not look like a distinguished name" | Enter the full distinguished name of the destination, for example OU=Staff,DC=example,DC=com; use Copy DN on the target to get it. |
| An OU cannot be deleted | It may be protected from accidental deletion; remove the protection first (needs ad:acl:manage). |
| The History tab is empty | Only changes made through SYNERGY Management Gateway are recorded; changes from other tools do not appear. |
