9Operations log, approvals and waiting operations

Last updated

Every change made through SYNERGY Management Gateway leaves a record. Whether a person edited a user in the Directory Browser, an n8n workflow created a group through the REST API, or an AI agent asked to disable an account over the MCP server, the platform writes an operation that says what was asked, who asked, through which credential, against which directory, what changed and how it ended.

This chapter explains how to read that record, and how the approval process works: when a request is held for a person to decide, how approvers decide it, and how the person on whose behalf it was made can follow it or withdraw it.

The chapter covers four screens and one live feature:

  • Operations: the operations log, for auditors and approvers.
  • My Waiting Operations: the requester's own view of requests that wait for approval.
  • The approval page (/approvals/decide): where a link from an approval email opens.
  • Live operation notifications: the cards that appear in the corner of the console as operations happen.

The rules that decide whether a request is held (operation policies, the "Always ask agents" pin and supervision levels for API keys and agents) are configured elsewhere, mainly on the Directory Policies page. See Chapter 10, Operation policies, attribute policies and agent supervision.
