3Signing in and your account

This chapter explains how you get into SYNERGY Management Gateway and how you look after your own account once you are in. It covers the sign-in page and every way of signing in it can offer, choosing a role, recovering a forgotten password, setting a password from an emailed link, two-factor sign-in, account lockout, the My profile page, and signing out.

Everything in this chapter is self-service: you do not need any particular permission to sign in, to manage your own profile or to sign out. Where an administrator's action is involved (creating your account, assigning roles, linking a Windows account, resetting your two-factor sign-in), this chapter tells you what to ask for and points to the chapter that describes the administrator's side.
